Who We Are

Singles Handler is operated by Singles Near Me, a business registered in Ontario, Canada. In these terms "we" and "us" mean Singles Near Me, and "the service" means Singles Handler: the website at singleshandler.com, the Singles Handler app for Shopify, and every store buylist page we host.

By creating an account, installing the app on a Shopify store, or submitting cards through a buylist, you agree to these terms. If you are installing the app for a business, you confirm that you may bind that business to them. Questions go to info@singlesnearme.ca.

What the Service Is

Singles Handler does three things:

  • For collectors, a free account to track a collection, see what it is worth, build decks, keep a wishlist, and trade with other members.
  • For trading-card stores on Shopify, an app that creates and prices listings for the store's singles, keeps stock in step with the store's orders and refunds, and reprices listings as market prices move.
  • For a store's customers, a buylist page where they can see what the store pays for cards and submit a list to sell.

Your Account

  • You sign in with a Google account. Keep that account secure; what happens under your sign-in is your responsibility.
  • One account is for one person. Do not share it, and do not sign in as someone else.
  • Keep your profile honest. A handle, display name or bio that impersonates someone, or that is abusive, will be removed.
  • We may block or remove an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why where we reasonably can.

Your Store

If you connect a Shopify store, you also agree to the following.

  • You are the owner of the store, or a staff member the owner has allowed to install apps, and you may give the app the permissions it asks for.
  • You are responsible for what your store sells. The app creates listings, sets prices from third-party market data, and changes stock levels in your store on your instructions and on the schedule you choose. Review what it does; the listings, prices, descriptions and stock in your store are yours, and so are your orders, refunds and customers.
  • Market prices are estimates, not a valuation or a promise of what a card will sell for. Where they come from, and what you agree to check, is set out under Prices and Card Data below.
  • You must follow Shopify's own terms, the rules of the games and products you sell, and the law where you trade.
  • Team members you add to your store act for the store. Remove them when they leave.

Prices and Card Data

  • Where it comes from. Card details and market prices come from tcgcsv, which republishes TCGplayer's public product and price data. JustTCG is our backup source. We do not have direct access to TCGplayer's own API, so what we show is only as current and as correct as those sources.
  • It can be wrong. Prices are refreshed about once a day and can be stale, incorrect or missing for any card. A card can also be matched to the wrong printing, set or condition, and the details or image shown for it can be wrong.
  • What you agree to. By using the service you accept that its prices and card data may contain errors. You agree to check the price of what you list, sell or buy, and to check each order before you fulfill it, as you would with any other tool.
  • Help us fix it. We do our best to keep the data accurate. If you find a wrong price or wrong card details, tell us: email info@singlesnearme.ca, use Report Incorrect Data on the card's page, or send us a note from the Feedback page on the website.

Data We Process for Your Store

When you connect a store, this section is our agreement with you about the store's data. The Privacy Policy describes the same data in more detail.

  • Who is responsible. Your store's orders, refunds, products and customers are yours. We process that data only on your behalf, only to provide the service to you, and only as these terms and your settings in the app direct.
  • What we process. Through the Shopify permissions you approve at install: your products and listings, your inventory and locations, and from each order and refund the order id and name, date, SKU, title, variant and quantity. We do not request or keep any customer's name, email, phone number, address or payment details, and we do not keep order or refund amounts. For your buylist, we hold the contact details sellers submit on your behalf.
  • Why. To create and price your listings, keep your stock in step with your orders and refunds, run your buylist, and bill your plan. We do not sell your store's data, use it for advertising, or share it with other stores.
  • Who else handles it. Shopify, where your listings live, and Amazon Web Services in Canada and the United States, where the service runs. Card price providers receive card identifiers only, never anything about your store or orders.
  • Security. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, Shopify access tokens are encrypted again before they are stored, and only your store's team and our administrators can reach it. If a breach affects your store's data, we tell you without undue delay and report it where the law requires.
  • How long we keep it. For as long as the app is installed. When you uninstall, we remove the access token at once. We delete your store's data when Shopify's erasure notice arrives, 48 hours later, or after a 14-day wait when we could not confirm the uninstall ourselves, as the Privacy Policy describes. Buylist contact details follow the retention rule in the Privacy Policy.
  • Your instructions. Write to info@singlesnearme.ca from your store's contact address to get a copy of your store's data or to have it deleted sooner.

Plans and Billing

  • Store plans are billed as a recurring subscription through Shopify. You approve the charge on Shopify's own screen, and it appears on your Shopify invoice. We never see or hold your payment details.
  • Current prices and what each plan includes are on the pricing page. A free plan exists; its limits are described there too.
  • You can change plans at any time from the Billing page, which takes you to Shopify's plan page. Shopify shows the price, and any free trial, before you approve, and works out the difference when you change plan during a billing period.
  • To stop paying, choose the free plan there, or uninstall the app from your Shopify admin. A move to the free plan takes effect when the current billing period ends; uninstalling ends the subscription when the app is removed.
  • Refunds of subscription charges follow Shopify's billing terms.
  • We may change plan prices. An existing subscription keeps its price until you change plan. If we ever change the price of a subscription you already have, we tell you at least 90 days before the new price applies, by email to your store's contact address and on the site.

Acceptable Use

Do not use the service to:

  • break the law, or help someone else break it;
  • harass, threaten or deceive other members, store staff or buylist customers;
  • submit a buylist with cards you do not own or do not intend to send;
  • scrape, copy or redistribute the catalogue, prices or other members' collections, or load the service in a way that degrades it for others;
  • get around a sign-in, a permission, a plan limit or a rate limit;
  • probe, scan or test the security of the service without our written agreement.

Your Content

What you put into the service stays yours: your collection, your decks, your notes, your profile, your store's listings and your buylist submissions. You give us permission to store, process and display it as far as running the service needs, which includes showing other members the parts of your profile you have chosen to share and giving a store the submissions sent to it.

We may remove content that breaks these terms. The privacy policy describes what we hold, for how long and how to have it removed.

Card Names and Images

Card names, card images, set symbols and game logos belong to each game's publisher and copyright owner. Singles Handler is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them. The service shows a card's image to identify the card being tracked, priced or sold, and the listings it creates name the card's manufacturer and copyright owner.

Buylist Offers

A buylist price is a quote. The store confirms it when it receives and checks your cards, and it may pay less for a card that is not in the condition you described, or decline it. Your agreement is with the store, not with us: we provide the page and the record of what was offered. We are not responsible for a store's payment, grading decisions or handling of your cards.

Trading Between Members

Trade offers are between the two members involved. The service records what each side offered and lets each member update their own collection afterwards; it does not move cards or money, verify that anyone owns what they offer, or guarantee that a trade is completed. Trade at your own judgement and meet or ship on terms you both agree.

Availability and Changes

We aim to keep the service available but do not promise any level of uptime. We may take it down for maintenance, and we may add, change or retire features, supported games or price sources. Where a change removes something a paid plan includes, we tell store owners in advance.

No Warranty

The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranty that it is error-free, that prices are accurate, that stock levels will always match your shelf, or that it will meet your needs. Check the listings and stock the app creates in your store as you would any other tool's work.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for incorrectly priced cards, or for revenue lost because a price was wrong, stale or missing: a card listed, sold or bought through a buylist at the wrong price is yours to catch before the order is fulfilled (see Prices and Card Data). Nor are we liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, lost profit, lost sales, or lost data arising from the service, including from a stock level that drifted, a trade or buylist that went badly, or the service being unavailable. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the subscription fees you paid us through Shopify in the twelve months before the claim. If you are a consumer, nothing here takes away a right that consumer protection law gives you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending the Agreement

  • You can stop at any time: uninstall the app from your Shopify admin, or write to us to have your account removed.
  • We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we retire the service, giving notice where we reasonably can.
  • What happens to your data afterwards is set out in the privacy policy. Uninstalling clears the app's access to your store at once.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute is heard in the courts of Ontario, unless the law where you live gives you the right to a different venue.

Changes to These Terms

When these terms change, the date at the top changes with it. A change that affects your rights or what you pay is announced on the site before it takes effect (a price change to an existing subscription at least 90 days ahead, as Plans and Billing says), and continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the new terms.
