Track a Collection

What a portfolio is

Your portfolio is the list of cards you own. The app prices every card in it and keeps a record of what the collection was worth over time.

You do not need a Shopify store for this. A store is for selling.

Add your first card

1. Open Catalogue.
2. Choose a game.
3. Search by name, set, or the number printed on the card.
4. Choose the condition.
5. Select Add to Portfolio.

The card appears in your portfolio with a value beside it.

Add a lot of cards at once

If you already track your collection on another site, export it as a CSV and bring it over. The app reads exports from:

• Collectr: every game the app carries. Export your portfolio as a CSV.
• Moxfield: Magic: The Gathering. In your Collection, choose More, then Export CSV.

1. Open Portfolio.
2. Select Import CSV.
3. Upload the file.
4. Check the preview.
5. Select Confirm Import.

The app works out which site the file came from. It matches each row to a card in the catalogue. The app skips rows from games it does not carry, and Moxfield proxies, and lists them for you. It still adds a card it cannot match, but without a picture or a price. Moxfield exports no prices, so the app gives each matched card its catalogue value when it imports it.

Importing the same file again updates the counts rather than adding the cards a second time.

To add a batch of cards without a file, use Quick Import: search for the cards, set the condition and the number of copies, and choose My portfolio under Import into. To add cards by camera, use Scan.

Two groups on the portfolio page

Group	What it means
Priced Automatically	The app matched the card to the catalogue. Its value updates on its own.
Not Matched Yet	Nothing in the catalogue matches. The card carries no price.

Open a card in the second group to correct its details. An empty second group is the good outcome: it means the app prices everything you own.

See what it is worth

Open Collection Stats. The page shows the total value, how the value moved over time, and the split by game and by item type.

Tag your copies

A tag labels some of your copies, for example the copies that are signed. A tag counts copies. If you own four copies and one is signed, the tag is on one copy. To sort cards into a binder, a box or a deck, use a collection.

The app has one tag that you do not make: Up For Trade. Put it on the copies that you would trade.

1. Open a card in your portfolio.
2. Find Tags.
3. Select a tag, or type a name for a new tag.
4. Enter how many copies carry the tag.
5. Select Apply Tag.

To see only the tagged cards, open Portfolio and select the tag in Tag. Each card then shows how many of its copies carry the tag, and how many you own in total.

When you have fewer copies of a card, the app takes the tag off the copies that you no longer have. When you move copies to a different condition, the tag moves with them.

To rename, recolour or delete a tag, select Manage Tags.

Add many cards at once

1. Open Portfolio.
2. Select Select Cards.
3. Select the cards.
4. On each card that you have more than one copy of, set how many copies.
5. Select what to do in Do.
6. Select a tag or a collection in Tag or Collection.
7. Select Apply.

To select every card on the page, select Select All.

Do	What the app does
Add to Collection	Puts the number of copies that you set into the collection.
Take Out of Collection	Takes the number of copies that you set out of the collection.
Move to Collection	Takes the number of copies that you set out of the collection in From and puts them into the collection in To.
Add Tag	Puts the tag on the number of copies that you set.
Remove Tag	Takes the tag off the number of copies that you set.
Remove from Portfolio	Takes the number of copies that you set out of your portfolio.

Move cards from one collection to another

You can move cards between collections that show only the cards you add. You need at least two of them before Move to Collection shows in Do.

1. Open Portfolio, or open the collection that the cards are in.
2. Select Select Cards.
3. Select the cards, and set how many copies of each.
4. In Do, select Move to Collection.
5. In From, select the collection that the cards are in.
6. In To, select the collection that you want them in.
7. Select Apply.

The bar reads as one sentence: Do Move to Collection, From one collection, To another. When you start in one of those collections, From is already that collection.

The app never adds more copies than you have. When a card has fewer copies than you set, the app uses all of them.

Collections

A collection is a way to sort your cards. Each collection has a type: Binder, Box, Deck or Other. The type sets only the icon and the label. A collection shows one of two things:

Choice	What it shows
Every card that matches	All the cards that match its filter. The app adds a new card when it matches.
Only the cards I add	Only the copies that you put in it, with a count for each card.

To make a collection from a filter:

1. Open Portfolio.
2. Set the filters, for example a game and a set.
3. Select Save As Collection.
4. Type a name and select a type.
5. Select what the collection shows.
6. Select Make Collection.

To put cards in a collection that shows only the cards you add:

1. Open the collection.
2. Select Add Cards.
3. Select the cards, and set how many copies of each.
4. Select Apply.

To put one copy of each card in a set into a collection, give the collection a filter for that set. Then open the collection and select Add One Of Each. The app takes a copy that is not in a different collection, if you have one. The collection then shows how much of the set it holds.

Each card in a collection shows how many of its copies are in the collection. The number on the card's picture counts only those copies. The line under the name also says how many you own in all. Other copies of the card stay in your portfolio.

To tag cards, mark them up for trade, or take them out of a collection, open the collection and select Select Cards. Select the cards, choose what to do in Do, choose a tag or a collection in Tag or Collection, and select Apply. This works the same in a collection as on the portfolio page.

Go back to where you were

A card that you open from a page shows a link back to that page. Select Back to Collection, and you return to the same collection, on the same page, with the same filters. The same works from a profile, a deck and a trade. A trail of links at the top of a page shows where you are.

Read a card in another language

Some cards show a Language list on their page. Choose a language, and the page shows the card's printed name, type line and text in that language. The English name stays under it. The app remembers your choice for the next card. Choose English to go back.

Your wishlist

The wishlist is the list of cards and sealed product that you want. The app shows what each one is worth, in your currency, and how many copies you already own.

To add a card to your wishlist:

1. Open the card in Catalogue.
2. Open Add to Wishlist.
3. Enter how many copies you want.
4. Select a printing, or keep Any.
5. Select the worst condition that you accept, or keep Any.
6. Select Add to Wishlist.

If you add the same card and printing again, the app adds the copies to the same line.

To see your wishlist, open Portfolio and select Wishlist. The app values each card at the printing and the worst condition that you want. A card that has no market price yet does not count in the total.

When you add a wished-for card to your portfolio, the app does not remove it from your wishlist. You can want more copies than you get. Remove it from the card's page, or from the wishlist.

Share your collection

Each member has a profile. Other signed-in members can open it. People who are not signed in cannot see it.

A profile has three parts, and you choose which parts other members see:

Part	What other members see
All Cards	Your cards, with their market value, and the collections that you show.
For Trade	The copies that carry the Up For Trade tag.
Wishlist	The cards that you want. They do not see your notes.

At the start, other members see all three parts. Other members never see your email, what you paid, your notes, or the cert numbers of your graded cards. Values show in the currency of the member who looks at them.

To change what other members see:

1. Open Account Settings.
2. Find Profile and Sharing.
3. Turn off each part that you want to keep to yourself.
4. Select Save Profile.

If you turn off all three parts, other members cannot open your profile. To trade with other members, show your trade list and your wishlist.

Your profile has a handle, for example red-binder. The handle is the address of your profile. The app gives you a random handle at the start. You can change it in Profile and Sharing. You can also give a display name and a short text about you.

To keep one collection off your profile:

1. Open the collection.
2. Find Collection Settings.
3. Select Hide From Profile.

This hides the collection, not its cards. If you show your cards, the cards in the collection still show in All Cards.

To see your profile as other members see it, select Your Profile in the account menu. To find other members, open More and select Collectors.

If a profile has a rude name, handle or text, open the profile and select Report This Profile. The admins read each report.

Trade with other members

The app compares your cards with the cards of other members. To trade, you and the other member must both show your trade list and your wishlist.

To find members to trade with, open More and select Trade Matches. The page lists the members whose trade list has cards on your wishlist, and the members whose wishlist has cards on your trade list. Both Ways shows a member who matches in both directions.

To compare your cards with one member:

1. Open their profile.
2. Select Trade With.

The page has two lists:

List	What it shows
They Have, You Want	Copies from their trade list that are on your wishlist.
You Have, They Want	Your copies that are on their wishlist.

The app shows the value of each copy at its printing and condition, in your currency. It also shows the total of each list and the difference between the two totals.

A copy matches a wish when it is the printing that the wish asks for, and its condition is the same as or better than the worst condition that the wish accepts. A graded card matches at any grade. The app does not promise one copy to two wishes.

Other members offer only the copies that are Up For Trade. For your own side, you can select My Whole Collection to check every card that you own. The copies that are not Up For Trade then show Not Up For Trade.

Make a trade offer

An offer says which of your copies you give and which of their copies you get. Only you and the other member can see it.

To make an offer:

1. Open the member's profile and select Trade With.
2. Select Make an Offer.
3. Set how many copies of each card you give and get.
4. Type a message, if you want to.
5. Select Send Offer.

The form starts with the copies that match each wish. The totals and the difference change as you set the counts. You can give your copies that are Up For Trade, and any of your copies that the other member wants.

To see your offers, open More and select Trade Offers. A number beside Trade Offers shows how many offers wait on you.

When a member sends you an offer, you can do one of these:

Do	What the app does
Accept	You agree to the trade. You can accept only when you still have the copies you give.
Counter	Opens the offer form with their offer, from your side. Change it, then send it. Their offer closes.
Decline	Closes the offer.

The member who made an offer can withdraw it until the other member answers.

After you accept, swap the cards with the other member. Then each of you opens the offer and selects Update My Portfolio. This changes only your own portfolio:

• The copies that you give go out of your portfolio. The app takes your Up For Trade copies first.
• The copies that you get go into your portfolio, as bought at their market value on that day.

When both members update their portfolios, the offer is complete. Until one member updates, either member can select Call Off Trade.

Use Messages on the offer to agree on how to swap the cards.

Graded cards and sealed product

The portfolio holds these too. Record the grader and the grade when you add a graded card. The app prices graded cards and sealed product from PriceCharting.
